Although the bobcat prefers rabbits and hares, it also hunts insects, chickens, geese and other small birds, deer, and rodents. Like most cats, the bobcat is territorial and mostly solitary, although with some overlap in home ranges. This may result in a bobcat intruding suburban areas.
